rain, rain, go away...

Today's weather in the Mid-South
requires some serious foul weather gear.
Only, that is, if you're crazy enough to leave the house at all.
Torrential rain, tornado sirens, thunder & lightning I think I'll just stay riiiight where I am
Thank you very much.

Foul weather gear has come a long way in recent years.
You no longer need to look like the "Gorton's Fisherman" fresh off the boat when it rains.

Two absolutely necessary items of which I approve:

If you are without a proper rain boot,
you're gonna need to fix that.
Not only are they functional but they're fashionable.

Not such a great weekend for the
Memphis in May, Beale Street Music Festival either.
I'm pretty sure it's a prerequisite that it rains for this festival
annually but I'd say the current conditions
are taking it to an entirely new level.

I would have loved to see Panic last night before the rain hit
but I am sure my Doctor would not have approved.
(that would have been me being an excessively non-compliant patient.)

Today is a fab. day for bed rest, just ask HW.
He hasn't moved in hours & is fast asleep curled up like a
Popple on DR's side of the bed.

If you do head out in this mess-
a) you're crazy
b) let me know- mister baby and I would love some pizza (ha)

Bee good!
xox

PS:  this article still irritates me.... just FYI :)

  2. Love both the boots and raincoat. I have the Patagonia in black...need the turquoise now. Haha!

Hope the raining stops soon. I thought tornado sirens were only legends, but when vacationing at Callaway Gardens one summer, they had them. The craziest thing. Kind of reminds me of LOST for some reason. :)

  4. Love the boots. I really need to get a pair, but can't rationalize it becaue I never think i will wear them.

  6. I love Hunter wellies, but they last too long! I've been dying to get the pink ones, but keep telling myself I can't until the classic greens give out... they're 15 years old, and still kickin' it.

  7. I'm OBSESSED with my HUNTER rain boots. In fact I have two pairs. I couldn't decide between the black (practical) and Hot Pink (obviously fabulous) so I got both! I'm so glad I did. I wear them every single time it rains. Those pictures in today's post make me want to wear them with cute summer skirts!!
